A group of church volunteers have been helping residents of Los Fresnos needing work done at their homes. They are from Messiah Lutheran Church of Boerne, Texas.
The 21 volunteers have been cleaning yards, building an access ramp and doing various jobs inside the homes of several Los Fresnos residents.
Chad Bresson, pastor of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Harlingen and the group coordinator, described the work of the volunteers as a great thing to do for people in the community.
“They have been doing volunteering in other places this summer,” he said. “I believe it’s great to help out those who are in need.”
The volunteers worked at a home on West Sixth and Seventh streets and on Dodds Drive this past week.
Bresson said they also have an organization in Los Fresnos called Life Group which meets regularly to talk about things of interest to the community.
