Called Sun Bae Taekwondo Academy, it offers classes to children three years and older and to adults willing to learn self-defense tactics.
The academy main instructor is Agme Antonio Gonzalez, a 2006 graduate from Los Fresnos High School who has 12 years of martial arts experience. Besides Gonzales, there are two more instructors.
Sun Bae also offer classes to those with special needs.
Students attending the Korean martial art academy come from Los Fresno’s surrounding areas and from Brownsville.
Sun Bae fees range from $75 to $90 and $120 for competition classes.
Those interested in competing are required to practice six hours a week of training.
