RVE Takes LAF 5K Walk/Run Trophy with 139 Runners

Rancho Verde Elementary took home the traveling trophy with the most participants in the Leo Aguilar Foundation 5K Run/Walk Oct. 13.
A total of 619 runners and walkers were registered. Of that total, 430 came from Los Fresnos CISD schools The top four schools and their entries were:
- Rancho Verde Elementary: 139 runners
- Los Fresnos Elementary: 78 runners
- Villareal Elementary: 76 runners
- Olmito Elementary: 67 runners
Overall Top Female: Jasmine Ponce received the trophy as the Overall Top Female and Jose BriseƱo was awarded the Overall Top Male.
The top finishers in each category were:
- Ages 6-10: Mia Rios and Robert Pineda
- Ages 11-14: Jasmine Ponce and Miguel Rodriguez
- Ages 15-18: Emily Ramirez, Jose Briseno and Erik Guevara
- Ages 19-25: Perla Briseno and Alberto Tudon
- Ages 26-30: Eunice Ruvalcaba and Mario Perez
- Ages 31-39: Michelle Douglas and Raul Salazar
- Ages 40-49: Ofelia Ponce, Shelby Crouch and Yi-Lin
- Ages 50-59: Elia Saldivar and Daniel Ledieux
- Ages 60-68: Nesie Pederson and Michael Jones
- Ages 70-79: Lydia Garcia and Roy Garcia
