LFHS Students to Compete in BPA State Conference

Eight Los Fresnos High School/Los Fresnos United students will participate in the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference Friday and Saturday.
The BPA, one of the oldest educational student organizations, prepares students to become global professionals through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic and technological skills. BPA strives to become an innovator in Career and Technical Education, providing members with opportunities for growth through education, competition, community service, and personal development.
The eight students – Noah Bruce, Jacqueline Franco, Daniela Garcia, Christopher Herrod, Brianna Martinez, Luis Torres, Antonio Weaver and Karen Zambrano – qualified for state at the Area 2 Region 3 competition held Jan. 11 in Weslaco. Herrod and Zambrano were first-place state qualifiers.
The state competition categories include Secondary Computer Modeling, Computer Animation Team, Digital Media Production, Network Design Team, Broadcast News Production Team, Video Production Team, Web Site Design Team, Administrative Support Research Project, Economic Research Individual and Team, Interview Skills, Advanced Interview Skills, Entrepreneurship, Global Marketing Team, and
Graphic Design.
