Principal Recognized for Earning Doctorate Degree

Elizabeth Swantner, principal of Resaca Middle School, was recognized for earning her advanced degree at the Los Fresnos CISD Board of Trustees meeting Monday.
Swantner, who has been principal at Resaca since 2015, received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in December 2016. Her dissertation was entitled “The Influence of Implementing the Leader in Me at a Title I Elementary Campus.”
Sylvia Aguirre, teacher at Los Fresnos United, was approved as the district’s new Higher Education Coordinator.
In other action, trustees:
- received Financial Reports, which included a Portfolio Report, Tax Collection Report, Summary Revenue and Expenditure Status Reports, Monthly Disbursements and Budget Adjustments
- approved minutes for meetings held on January 16 and January 23.
- approved Budget Amendment #7 for Fiscal Year 2017
- Approved the addition of Alternate #2 Timing/Scoring System to the existing contract for the Indoor Swimming Facility, and authorize the Superintendent to negotiate and sign the Change Order.
