Current District Governor, Amando Chapa presented several awards on Thursday, May 5th. Firstly, the Rotary Club of Los Fresnos received Three awards. Los Fresnos Rotary received the 2021-22 Rotary Citation, the District Governor Exemplory Club Award, and the District Governor’s Peace through Rotary Recognition Award.
Darelene Peterson, past President, and current District Secretary received Rotarian of the Year Award under Los Fresnos’ district 5930 Club. Along with Peterson, Amando Chapa also awarded Andres Zamarripa Rotarian of the Year. Congratulations to both of these Rotarians.
Chapa also pinned and recognized the Los Fresnos Interact Board. “What a ray of sunshine it was,” The Rotary Club posts, “to have our Interact Club Officers of Los Fresnos High School participate at our club meeting”. The President, Jennifer Laznovsky & Vice-President, Christian Alvarado presented a remarkable slideshow presentation at the meeting, detailing the service projects they’ve accomplished this past year as a club.
The Rotary Club also thanks the sponsors of the Interact club saying, “We are also, very grateful for their sponsors Luis Gonzalez and Mindy Quiroz for their dedication and giving of their time.” Without their support, these fine students may not have had these types of opportunities in Leadership & Service.
