Los Fresnos picks up final non-district, ready for 32-6A play

The Los Fresnos Falcons hosted the Mission Eagles for the final non-district matchup of 2022. With District 32-6A play around the corner, The Falcons were looking to continue their dominance. Holding a 3-1 record with the lone loss to PSJA North, The Falcons were ready to get their final tune up game started. Last time Los Fresnos faced off against the Mission Eagles was in the 2021 Bi-District round of the Playoffs where the Falcons grabbed a big 56-14 win.


Los Fresnos led the offense in the first half, punching in the first Touchdown of the night on a 13 yard TD run to make it 7-0. Mission would quickly respond, on a 29 yard Touchdown Pass to make it 7-6. Los Fresnos would pick up one more touchdown to lead 14-6 at the half.


In the second quarter, Los Fresnos picked up two touchdowns and one interception to increase their lead 28-6. After a fumble recovery by Mission, Los Fresnos would intercept a pass two plays later to lead 28-6 at the Half.


Los Fresnos would capture their first TD of the second half on a 19 yard run by Angel Arce. Los Fresnos would also pick up their third interception of the night. Defense continued to play a factor in the fourth quarter as the Falcons picked up another interception. One more touchdown was scored on a 19 yard run by Jose Luis Rodriguez to take the win 42-13.


Now heading into 32-6A play, Los Fresnos will come off a bye week to take on the Rivera Raiders in week seven. In week eight, Los Fresnos will go back to Lackey Stadium as they will face off against the Weslaco Panthers. Week nine will see Los Fresnos host the Hanna Golden Eagles. Week ten will see the San Benito Greyhounds come into Los Fresnos for the final home game of the season. To wrap up the regular season, Los Fresnos will take on the Harlingen Cardinals at Boggus Stadium.
