LOS FRESNOS — Few Texas high school athletes ever reach the 100-touchdown milestone, but Los Fresnos quarterback Robert Pineda has now joined that elite group. The senior surpassed the century mark last week and sits at 103 total touchdowns, according to a post on the Los Fresnos Football X account (formerly Twitter).

The program celebrated the achievement by noting, “Not too many Texas high school players reach the century mark for touchdowns, but in Los Fresnos we are blessed to have Robert Pineda who surpassed that mark and is up to 103!” The post also underscored Pineda’s humility, pointing out that he credits his success to “his Savior, Coaches, & Teammates.”

Pineda’s numbers back up the recognition. Over the course of his career, he has thrown for 5,157 yards and 59 touchdowns while adding 3,376 rushing yards and 44 scores on the ground. The dual-threat quarterback has accounted for more than 8,500 yards of total offense, placing him among Los Fresnos’ all-time statistical leaders.

Last season alone, Pineda tallied 1,720 passing yards and 1,388 rushing yards, combining for over 3,100 yards of offense and 22 touchdown passes. His ability to extend plays and punish defenses on the ground set the tone for Los Fresnos’ offense. This year, he has already opened the season strong, rushing for 421 yards in just two games while adding another 183 yards through the air.

That balance between passing and rushing has made Pineda especially difficult to defend. He is capable of breaking big runs in open space but is equally comfortable running the offense through the air. With 59 passing touchdowns and 44 rushing touchdowns to his name, Pineda has demonstrated versatility and consistency across four varsity seasons.

Reaching 100 touchdowns is no small feat given the limited number of games in a high school career. Most athletes will only play 40 to 50 varsity contests, making Pineda’s century mark an achievement that highlights not only his talent, but also his durability and ability to perform year after year.

For the Falcons, the milestone is a reflection of the program’s strength as much as it is of one player’s ability. Pineda has benefitted from the blocking up front and the skill players around him, and he has been quick to acknowledge that support. By directing credit toward his teammates, coaches, and faith, Pineda has shown the humility and leadership qualities that extend beyond the box score.

As the season continues, Los Fresnos fans will be watching to see how much higher Pineda can push his totals. With more than 8,500 career yards and 103 touchdowns already behind him, his legacy with the Falcons is firmly established. Each game from here forward adds to a record that will be remembered long after his high school career comes to a close.
