Lady Falcons District play now underway

The Los Fresnos Lady Falcons are officially in District 32-6A play and are currently 1-1. Here is what has transpired so far.
The Lady Falcons opened up 32-6A play against the Rivera Lady Raiders. Los Fresnos opened up the first quarter with a six point lead over the Lady Raiders. Key offense for the Lady Falcons played a factor as they were able to hold off a late attack by Rivera to win 62-40.
Up next for the Lady Falcons were they powerhouse Lady Panthers of Weslaco High. From the start, the Lady Falcons and Lady Panthers went back and forth as Weslaco jumped ahead to a 10-7 lead at the end of the first. Los Fresnos then was able to outscore Weslaco 13-11 in the second quarter. Despite the better offense by the Lady Falcons, Weslaco still led 21-20.
The second half saw Weslaco play more aggressively and after a close-knit battle in the third quarter, Weslaco outscored Los Fresnos 18-15. Despite a more aggressive offense in the fourth quarter, Weslaco would win 54-42.
The Lady Falcons will face off against the Lady Golden Eagles of Brownsville Hanna before taking on San Benito and Harlingen to wrap up round 1 of 32-6A play.
