By Ruben Rodriguez
Los Fresnos News
The Los Fresnos Lady Falcons faced off against the San Antonio Taft Lady Raiders in the Area Round of the Texas High School Girls Soccer Playoffs. After getting a big 2-0 win over La Joya in the Bi-District Round, Los Fresnos is set for the Area Round. After falling to Brennan in 2022’s Area Round, Los Fresnos was looking to advance into the area round.
Taft took control early on and took the lead on a 1-0 lead in the first half. Despite countless shots on goal, the Lady Falcons weren’t able to net a goal.
Taft continued their offensive dominance and picked up two more goals in the second half. A good offense backed by a strong defense, Taft was able to keep Los Fresnos scoreless to win the game 3-0.
The Lady Falcons finished the season with an overall record of 15-8-3 and a District record of 8-2. A great season that saw the Lady Falcons finish in second in district.
