The Los Fresnos Easter Event, organized by the Los Fresnos Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Los Fresnos, was a great success, bringing together residents and visitors alike for a day of fun, music, food and, of course, Easter egg hunting.
Mayor Alejandro Flores attended the Easter Festival and expressed his pride in being a resident of Los Fresnos, a town he describes as “great” and filled with “great people.” The Mayor also took the opportunity to remind everyone that Easter is a special day to remember the true reason for the season: Jesus.
The event was made possible by the generous support of sponsors such as the City of Los Fresnos, the Los Fresnos Community Development Corporation and Walmart of Los Fresnos. The Chamber, as the event organizer, provided various entertainment options for the whole family, from a trackless train that traversed the park, to inflatables and live music by the Texas Show Down Band.
Several food and arts and crafts vendors joined in the fun, ensuring that no one went hungry or unsatisfied, while a total of 9,300 Easter eggs was the highlight for many children in attendance. Among the many eggs were 50 special “Gold Eggs” containing valuable prizes, such as a free annual membership to the Boys and Girls Club. The total monetary value of the prizes was $8,500.
Val Champion, Director of the Los Fresnos Chamber of Commerce, expressed his gratitude to everyone who made the event a success, from the sponsors to the volunteers and community that participated.
Mayor Flores posted “We are Los Fresnos,” he said, “We are a great town with great people. I love being your Mayor.” He adds, “I promise to always be available to my citizens. We are Los Fresnos!”
The Los Fresnos Easter Event is a testament to the spirit of community and joy that characterizes this town in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley. It is a time for families, friends, and neighbors to enjoy each other’s company, make new memories, and look forward to the next big occasion that will bring them together in the future.
