With the Conference Finals in full swing, it has been one postseason to remember. An interesting pair of conference championship series, both conferences are repeating history as all four teams left were the final four during the “Bubble Playoffs” in 2020.
In the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers have been quite the rivalry throughout the season, and in the WCF, it was a bit one-sided.
Denver, which was led by the powerhouse duo of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, stole the show all four games. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers, struggled throughout the postseason due to injuries, notably to Center Anthony Davis. LeBron James, in his twentieth season in the league, had himself a dominant performance despite being against the odds.
Riding on a wave of momentum after a great regular season, the Nuggets’ dominance in the playoffs peaked as Denver was able to beat Los Angeles in four straight, not allowing the Lakers to steal a win.
With the Conference Championship in the books the Nuggets have punched their ticket to their first-ever NBA Finals Appearance. Meanwhile, Denver will have to wait and prepare for either the Boston Celtics or Miami Heat, who are currently battling it out in the Eastern Conference. That matchup, also being a rematch of the 2020 Eastern Conference Finals.
