Mexico knocks off Honduras, First win under head coach Lozano

After a rough couple of weeks for the Mexican National Soccer Team. El Tri turned the tide, picking up a 4-0 lead against Honduras in the Group B Opener of the 2023 Gold Cup.
After Mexico fired Diego Cocca, Jimmy Lozano was hired to take the reigns for Mexico in the 2023 Gold Cup. With expectations high for one of the favorites of the tournament, Mexico was on a mission.
In the Group B stage opener in Houston, Luis Romo earned Man of the match accolades as he led Mexico’s powered offense, scoring two of the four goals for Mexico.
Captain Orbelin Pineda scored Goal number three while Luis Pena closed the door with Goal number 4.
Mexico will continue Gold Cup Action against Haiti and Qatar in group B.
