Back in 2005 Leonardo and Nora Baez started making and selling pan dulce from the side of the road on Laureles Street in Los Fresnos. After saving money they were able to purchase a van to sell their pan dulce to the residents of Los Fresnos, who were waiting with coffee in hand. After 18 years of making thousands of pan dulce they were finally able to realize their dream of owning their own bakery.

Abby’s Bakery is located at 417 W. Ocean Blvd. Unit 2, in Los Fresnos was named after Leonardo’s daughter whom he considers a gift from God. Abby’s will always be known for her father’s dream of owning a family friendly bakery. Owners Leonardo and Norma run the bakery along with their son Gabriel Avila who is the bakery’s manager. Along with their son Gabriel and his four brothers, two uncles and of course mom and dad you can truly say that family comes first. Abby’s offers a variety of pan dulce (sweet bread) from doughnuts, Conchas, empanadas and many more mouthwatering sweet bread.

They also make cakes for all occasions as well as cheesecake and flan. The bakery also offers a variety of breakfast tacos starting at only $2.00. The bakery is open from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm from Monday through Sunday. The Los Fresnos News would like to thank Abby’s Bakery for the opportunity to highlight a local business in Los Fresnos.
