South Padre Island Holiday Parades First Weekend in December

Love visiting South Padre Island? Well, get ready for some island holiday fun? Fun starts on Thursday, November 30th with the Lighting Tree Ceremony. On Friday December 1st the 34th Annual SPI Christmas Street Parade will kick off at 6 p.m. Cash awards will e given to all the winners from 1st -$500, 2nd -$300, 3rd -$200 and finalist-$100. So, get ready to see some beautifully decorated floats that will travel south on Padre Blvd. From Mars to Acapulco. For even more lighted fun, on Saturday December 2nd will be the popular annual Lighted Boat Parade, which will start at 6 p.m. Designated areas throughout the boat route will offer free public viewing. The best viewing for the boat parade will be at the Entertainment District. Boat categories are commercial boats, medium/large boats, and small/medium boats. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category. A fireworks display will begin immediately following the parade.

La mejor visualización del desfile de barcos será en el Distrito de Entretenimiento. Las categorías de embarcaciones son embarcaciones comerciales, embarcaciones medianas/grandes y embarcaciones pequeñas/medianas. Habrá ganadores del primer, segundo y tercer lugar en cada categoría. Inmediatamente después del desfile comenzará un espectáculo de fuegos artificiales.
