Interactive Literacy Bus Makes Stops Around the Community

By Mike Villarreal

The Los Fresnos CISD has launched a new initiative to promote literacy among its students by introducing the District Literacy Bus. This mobile library, converted from a school bus, is designed to bring books and reading opportunities to students in the community.

The Los Fresnos CISD Family Engagement Department is leading this exciting and interactive project, which aims to foster a love for reading among students by setting up a fully equipped library on wheels. The bus, adorned with vibrant colors on the outside, houses a complete library inside, along with a designated area for guest readers.

Fostering literacy is a fundamental part of the Los Fresnos CISD’s mission. The district is eager to engage with families and inspire children to read in a safe and inviting environment. The Literacy Bus will be available at different events and visiting neighborhoods during the summer.
