Arcia, Urbis, Boles, Named National AP Scholars

Three Students Named National AP ScholarsThe top three 2013 Los Fresnos High School graduates – Alexis Garcia, Scott Urbis and Jacob Boles – have been named National AP Scholars by the College Board.
Twenty-eight LFHS students were recognized as AP Scholars.
The National AP Program offers several AP Scholar Awards to recognize high school students who have demonstrated college-level achievement through advanced placement courses and programs.
The National AP Scholar award is granted to students who received an average score of at least 4 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these courses.
Garcia, Urbis and Boles also received the AP Scholar with Distinction award, which was presented to students who received an average score of 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
Three other students received AP Scholar with Honor distinction – Erastro Renteria, a 2013 LFHS graduate; and Priscilla D. Lopez and Daira M. Tolosa, members of the LFHS Class of 2014.
The AP Scholar with Distinction award is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
Twenty-five students – 22 graduates of the Class of 2013 and three students in the Class of 2014 – were named AP Scholars, which is granted to students who received scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. The students include:
Class of 2013: Sade Abramson, Abel Aguilar, Brandon Barajas, Steven Bautista, Diana Cabrera, Cooper Carter, Luis Cortez, Corina Cox, Abigail Gomez, Dulce Guardado, Erica Hughston, Brian Leal, Hailey Leal, Abigail Magdaleno, Norberto Montañez, Gilda Parlatto, Desiree Robles, Samantha Rodriguez, Erendira Ruby Saenz, Jaime Saldivar, Brandon Tovar, and Peter Zavaletta.
Class of 2014: Markus Hernandez, Dalton House and Kaitlyn Torres.
