Lady Falcons capture 32-6A Title

After a long successful regular season The hard work, long tri-matches and tournaments, the Lady Falcons captured the District 32-6A Championship will a stellar run in district.
Los Fresnos opened up 32-6A action two big sweeps against San Benito (3-0) and Brownsville Veterans (3-0). In their third district game, The Lady Falcons faced off against rival Harlingen High. In what was a equal match that went down to the wire, Harlingen slipped away in set 5 to win 3-2. The Falcons then came back to knock off Hanna in a sweep. To finish the first half of 32-6A, the Falcons went 3-1.
To begin the second half of 32-6A, the Falcons picked up a big win over San Benito 3-1. Brownsville Veterans was next up and shades to the first matchup of 32-6A as the Falcons would blank Brownsville Veterans 3-0.
Now the crucial test came up as it was time to face off against Harlingen High. After going back and forth and in the first two sets, the Falcons would defeat Harlingen by winning the next two sets in order to win 3-1.
Following the Harlingen match, Los Fresnos wrapped up the regular season with a sweep over Brownsville Hanna.
Finishing District Play at 7-1, the Falcons are the outright 32-6A champions. Punching their ticket to postseason, Los Fresnos will now turn their attention to the Bi-District round. The Falcons will take on a familiar foe as they take on 31-6A’s Weslaco High.
The Panthers and Falcons have had their fair share of battles in 32-6A. This time, there won’t be district bragging rights on the line.
Now the stakes are higher as a chance at the Area Round is at play for both teams will battle out.
For the Falcons, who have had early exits in recent years, have a chance to hop over the hump and advance further into the playoffs.
