Falcons up to 3-0 in 32-6A

After the huge win over Brownsville Veterans, the Los Fresnos Falcons were set to clash with another district rival. The Harlingen Cardinals were due up for the Falcons in the third district meeting.
The Falcons and Cardinals have had some history, facing off in some big matchups. For the Falcons, the matchup was important. A chance to remain perfect in district. Los Fresnos also was playing with a chip on their shoulder, as Los Fresnos has not beaten Harlingen since 2021.
Los Fresnos and Harlingen both battled out in the first quarter and played equally matched. Both teams picked up a touchdown to tie 7-7 at the end of the first. The second quarter saw more offense by both teams, but the tide began to turn for Los Fresnos. The Falcons were able to score two more touchdowns to lead 21-14 at the half.
Now the offense was rolling for Los Fresnos, but what about the defense? Los Fresnos’ defense began to execute and played more aggressively. The Falcons shut down Harlingen in the third quarter leaving them scoreless. Meanwhile, the Falcon offense was able to tack on three more field goals, to lead 30-14.
The defensive dominance continued for the Falcons, as in the fourth quarter, Harlingen was left scoreless again. The Cardinals however, played more standout, limiting Los Fresnos to six points. The Falcons would hold on, defeating Harlingen 36-14.
The Falcons improved to 3-0 in District and 8-1 overall. The Falcons will have one more match against Brownsville Hanna to wrap up District 32-6A play. If Los Fresnos can stay unbeaten in District, the Falcons can capture 32-6A gold.
