Falcons Battle in 6A Area Round

After going through the Bi-District round, Which saw Los Fresnos pull off a big win over Edinburg Economedes. The Falcons were now on focused for the second round against Buda Johnson. The Jaguars out of District 29-6A were fresh off a win against Laredo United 41-14. The Falcons certainly have their hands full heading into this matchup.
The Jaguars would start the scoring as Running back Kael Hatnot would rush in a 9 yard touchdown run, but miss the PAT. The Falcons would be scoreless until the second quarter as Robert Pineda would connect a 14 yard pass to Ricardo Salazar for their first touchdown of the night, but would miss the PAT as well. Both teams would remain scoreless for the rest of the first half. Both teams would be tied 6-6 at the end of the first half.
The Falcons struck first in the third quarter, as Pineda found Salazar again for a second touchdown to lead 13-6. The Jaguars would immediately respond on the ensuing kickoff as Tim Mata ran it back 99 yards to tie the game. Los Fresnos again would quickly respond as Pineda connected to Diego Torres for a 65 yard Touchdown pass to retake the lead. The Jaguars continued to battle back as Kael Hatnot scored a touchdown to tie the game once again.
Now 20-20 heading into the fourth quarter, both teams were in crunch time. Despite a defensive battle, the Jaguars were able to take the lead as Jaguars kicker Joe Margiotta drilled in a 32- yard field goal. Despite a late surge of offense by the Falcons, the Jaguars would survive 23-20.
With the win, the Jaguars will face off against Austin Westlake in the 6A Region IV Semifinals.
The Falcons’ 2024 season comes to an end. Without a doubt a successful season, the Falcons finished off 4-0 as the 32-6A District Champions, and finished the season 10-2 overall. The Falcons also captured the Bi-District Title. Now the Falcons will turn to the offseason.
