Los Fresnos native Joshua Cepeda recently participated in the Ultimate Bullfighter (UBF) World Finals at the historic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday, December 7, 2024. When he isn’t fighting bulls, Joshua works as a Paramedic Supervisor with the Santa Fe, Texas Fire and Rescue. He previously served with Los Fresnos EMS and volunteered as a firefighter with the Los Fresnos Fire Department.

Joshua graduated from Los Fresnos High School in 2014, where he was a member of the Mighty Falcon Band and the Falcon Baseball team. He also participated in the CTE Program, where he studied to become an EMT. Joshua credits the CTE Program with helping him develop the work ethic needed to succeed after graduation.

He plans to compete again, hoping to bring home a portion of the prize money. Since childhood, Joshua has been a fan of the Los Fresnos Rodeo, and in 2022, he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a bullfighter. His journey has not been easy; he has faced numerous injuries, including a dislocated elbow, a torn MCL, broken ribs, a sprained wrist, and many bruises. Despite the challenges, his dedication to bullfighting remains unwavering as he moves forward in his first World Finals.

When asked about his experience as a Paramedic Supervisor, Joshua expressed that he enjoys having the confidence in his abilities to provide excellent service to his community. He is committed to continuous learning and improvement to ensure success in his career.
