After dropping a match to United South, the Los Fresnos Falcons Boys Basketball Team opened up 2025 on the right track. In the final non-district game of the 2024-25 season, the Falcons were taking on a 31-6A Foe in Edinburg Economedes.

The First quarter started closely as the Jaguars and Falcons were evenly matched. Los Fresnos would take the lead 13-12 at the end of the first quarter. The Falcon defense came up big in the second quarter limiting the Jaguars to simply eight points. The Falcons were able to spot up 19 to lead 32-20 at the half.

The offense exploded for the Falcons in the third quarter, spotting up 32 points. Defense continued to play a factor as once again, the Falcons kept Econ to only 10 points.

Despite a 15 point fourth quarter by Economedes, the Falcons would cruise to a huge 81-45 victory.
With that win, Los Fresnos finishes Non-District Play with a great 19-7 record. Now the page turns to district play as the Falcons will take on the Brownsville Veterans Memorial Chargers to open up 32-6A.

The first half of District continues as the Falcons host Harlingen High on January 14, then travel to Brownsville Hanna January 17. The Falcons will then have one week off. To wrap up the first half of District, the Falcons will take on San Benito January 24. Round two of 32-6A opens up January 28 against the Chargers.

Last season, the Falcons finished in 3rd with a 7-3 record. Now in a smaller district with Weslaco and Brownsville Rivera in 31-6A and 32-5A, five teams remain in 32-6A. The Falcons head into the district season with the “win every game” mentality. With a smaller district, every game counts.
