The American Mathematics Competitions, AMC 8, AMC 10, and AMC 12, are designed to increase interest in mathematics and to develop problem solving through competitions. Teachers and schools benefit by forming mathematics clubs in schools, preparing students for the competitions, and having the chance to challenge students with interesting math questions which are aligned with curriculum standards at all levels of difficulty.
Students also benefit from preparing for and participating in the competitions by learning problem solving skills, gaining the opportunity to learn and achieve through competition, and meeting students with the same interest in math from different parts of the country.
