1939 LFHS Alum Evelyn Kyle Carrell Attends Celebration
- Updated: April 29, 2016
Evelyn Kyle Carrell, who is believed to be the oldest living Los Fresnos High School graduate, surprised everyone by her attendance at the Centennial Celebration Saturday at Leo Aguilar Memorial Stadium.
Carrell, who will be 95 years old on May 2, graduated from Los Fresnos High School in 1939. There were 11 graduates in the class, according to the unofficial yearbook poster from the class maintained at the school.
Carrell still lives in the same house on South Alamo Street in Los Fresnos where she grew up and raised seven children. She has 10 great-great-great grandchildren.
Carrell was a surprise speaker at Saturday’s celebration. She was also a teacher and assistant principal at Los Fresnos Elementary School.
The 1939 class picture is posted on the district’s 100th Anniversary web page.
