Ruby was a 1953 graduate of Los Fresnos High School. She worked with her husband in the petroleum business for many years before launching into the real estate business. She remained active in the community and the Los Fresnos Church of Christ until her death.
Ruby selflessly spent her life serving others and was known for making everyone in her path feel like family, especially those new to the community. She loved her family fiercely, her church passionately, and her Lord completely. She was spunky, always had a smile on her face, and had the most contagious laugh. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world. Going for midnight ice cream runs and making desserts in the middle of the night with the kids was a regular occurrence.
A celebration of her glorious life took place on Thursday and Friday, December 28th and 29th. Visitation was on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the San Benito Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Los Fresnos Church of Christ at 2:00 pm with burial following at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations were made in Ruby’s memory to the Los Fresnos Church of Christ for kitchen & other upgrades.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were Ruby’s grandchildren Austin Milum, Miranda Milum, Wesley & Christina Milum, Travis Milum, Dustin & Kristin Dahlberg, Macray McCormick, Connor McCormick, and Kayleigh McCormick.
