Chamber of Commerce to Present “A Christmas Fantasy” Lighted Parade and Festival

Preparations for the 2016 Los Fresnos Christmas lights parade theme: “A Christmas Fantasy” presented by the Los Fresnos Chamber of Commerce are underway. This year the parade start time is set for 5 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016. The Parade line-up will begin at 4 p.m. All entries must be in position at their parade line-up area by 4:30 p.m. The parade will begin at exactly 5 p.m. The parade route is set to begin at East Second and Alamo streets, proceed east on Second Street, then turns north on Arroyo Boulevard and ends at Los Fresnos High School.

Anyone interested in being part of the parade must pick up and submit an application at the Los Fresnos Chamber of Commerce located at 203 N. Arroyo (next to Wells Fargo Bank). The application and entry fee must be submitted by 4 p.m. Tuesday, November 29. Entries received after the date will be inserted to the end of the Parade line-up in the order received. The application must be signed to be accepted. There is a $25 fee per entry. The fee is waived for Los Fresnos CISD and City of Los Fresnos entries.

The Christmas Festival begins when the Parade ends at Memorial Park. All Parade participants are encouraged to attend the Christmas Festival which includes entertainment, rides, food, and pictures with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus giving Christmas Bags to all children attending. Trophies are awarded for the top three winners in each entry category. Winners are announced at the Christmas Festival at Memorial Park. Winners not in attendance can pick up their trophies at the Chamber Office. There will be food vendor booths, information booths and game booths at the festival.
