Los Fresnos wraps up first round of 32-6A play
LOS FRESNOS-The Lady Falcons wrapped up the first round of district play with a win over Harlingen South (24-26,25-6,25-21,25-15) on Tuesday night in Los Fresnos.
Olivia Parra was named Rio Sports Live’s player of the game in the win.
The Lady Falcons will get a bye on Saturday before they tussle with San Benito next Tuesday. The Lady Falcons will look to complete the season sweep against the Lady Greyhounds.
After the first round, Los Fresnos sits in a good spot with a 6-1 record, good enough for second place in a highly competitive district.
Their only blemish was a loss in straight sets against Harlingen, who remains the only unbeaten in 32-6A with a perfect 7-0 record.
The Lady Falcons will have key matches October 12 at home versus Rivera and October 19 also at home against Harlingen.
