Los Fresnos Lady Falcons Look To Capture District Gold

After an impressive performance at the 2021 BISD Tournament, the Los Fresnos Lady Falcons continue their winning ways as they look ahead to the district. With the Lady Falcons already kicking off district play. Here’s what to expect and what we’ve seen heading into the rest of district play.
After Los Fresnos’ dominant run at the 2021 BISD Tournament, The Lady Falcons picked up big wins in back-to-back home games over Brownsville Pace 63-24 and Mercedes 68-11. The Lady Falcons finished off the non-district play with an exceptional 17-6 record.
Now Heading into district play, Los Fresnos took on the San Benito Lady Greyhounds to kick off the 2021-2022 district campaign. What started off as a close matchup, both the Lady Falcons and Lady Greyhounds finished the first quarter deadlocked at 11. Los Fresnos then took control to outscore San Benito 17 to 11 to make it 28-22 at the half with the Lady Falcons leading. After adjustments from The Lady Greyhounds, San Benito regained control and limited Los Fresnos to only two points scored in the third and maintained control in the fourth quarter to win 51-43.
With one district game already in the books, here is the remaining district calendar. The Lady Falcons will then take on Donna North on December 17th then face off against Rivera on New Year’s Eve. After, they will kick off 2022 against powerhouses Weslaco and Harlingen on January 4th and 7th. The Next week, Los Fresnos faces off against Brownsville Hanna and Harlingen South to wrap up the first half of District Play.
January 18th, Los Fresnos kicks off the second half against San Benito then Donna North on the 21st. Then return to host Rivera on the 25th before traveling to meet Weslaco on January 28th. February kicks off against Harlingen in the last home game of the season. Los Fresnos wraps up the district calendar vs Brownsville Hanna and Harlingen South on February 4th and 8th.
In arguably one of the toughest districts in the Valley. Los Fresnos is a favorite to capture district alongside heavy hitters Harlingen and Weslaco. With a strong lineup and key roster. The Lady Falcons look to add another district title to a great Los Fresnos Lady Falcons Basketball Program.
