The Los Fresnos Lady Falcons competed in the Area Round of 6A Region four playoffs. After Finishing as the number three seed in District 32-6A, Los Fresnos First defeated 31-6A’s Edinburg North Lady Cougars by a score of 1-0.
Now heading into the Area Round, Los Fresnos was set to take on the Brennan Lady Bears out of District 29-6A. Brennan Defeated Laredo United South of 30-6A in a Dominant 8-0 victory.
In the first half, Brennan took control early on with a fast-paced offense as the Lady Bears scored two minutes into the game to take the lead early. Los Fresnos, despite constant offensive attacks, were not able to secure a goal and managed to keep it a 1-0 game. 32 minutes later, The Lady Bears scored two goals to take the lead 2-0 at the half.
The Lady Falcons continued to apply pressure and hold on defensively through the second half. The Lady Bears picked up their third goal of the night to take the lead. 5 minutes later the Lady Falcons responded with their first goal to make it a 3-1 game. Brenan would respond and tack on another goal to make it a 4-1 lead over Los Fresnos. The Lady Falcons would score one more goal to make it a 4-2 final as Brennan would take the victory to advance to the Regional Quarterfinal.
In what was a great season for Los Fresnos Soccer, The Lady Falcons finished with an overall record of 15-7-3 and a district 32-6A record of 11-3.
