Los Fresnos News
The Lady Falcons played their last round of non-district action before 32-6A begins in just a mere number of days. Here is what we have seen so far.
The Los Fresnos Lady Falcons are currently 21-5 to finish off the non-district campaign. The Lady Falcons have won five of their last six, including a five game winning streak. Los Fresnos has not lost since December 9, 2022, which was the 70-28 loss to Edinburg. Ever since then, the Lady Falcons have held off all opponents, knocking off Edinburg North, Corpus Christi Carroll, PSJA High, Port Isabel and La Joya. The Lady Falcons also found tournament success, including a strong appearance at the Mid-Valley Classic and capturing the BISD Tournament Championship.
Now heading into 32-6A play, the Lady Falcons will take on the Lady Raiders of Brownsville Rivera. Following Rivera, The Lady Falcons will face off against Weslaco on January 10, then Brownsville Hanna on January 13. The Lady Falcons will then take on San Benito on January 17, and lastly Harlingen on January 20 to wrap up the first half of 32-6A Play.
Round two will begin January 24 against Brownsville Rivera at home, then Weslaco January 27. Hanna will be up next on January 31. San Benito on February 3rd. Harlingen will host the Lady Falcons on January 7 to wrap up the regular season.
Last season, the Lady Falcons finished in fourth with a 9-5 district record before falling to Edinburg Vela in the Bi-District round. With the key core of Lady Falcons back from last year’s squad, Alex’ Lucio’s ball club is ready to roll for 32-6A play. Key leaders for the Lady Falcons are Shiloh Jones, Aylene Ortega, Maritza Ortega, Olivia Parra and Val Prazzelini. Ali Tobar, Dakota Martinez, Mia Ordaz and Jessie Brisky have also been a vital component to the Lady Falcons successes this season.
