All Star Week in the MLB is always fun time. From the Futures Game to the Celebrity Softball Game, fans all over converge on one location to enjoy a fun filled week of Baseball.
One of the most, if not the most popular event of All Star Week is the Home Run Derby. Eight of baseball’s best power hitters clash in a tournament to see who the best hitter is.
This year’s derby field featured a fun lineup consisting of Randy Arozarena, Adolis Garcia, Luis Robert Jr, Pete Alonso, Mookie Betts, Adley Rutschman, Julio Rodriguez, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
All Eight hitters put on a show in Seattle, especially Rodriguez. The crowd favorite, The Mariners’ outfielder cranked 41 home runs in the first round before falling to Guerrero, who defeated Betts in the first round.
The Final Round saw Arozarena face off against Guerrero. After an impressive 25 runs performance, Guerrero was able to hold on as Arozarena had a late surge of power to put up 23 runs.
Guerrero Jr, captured his first home run derby title after just falling short in 2019 to Pete Alonso.
Guerrero Jr, joins his father as a derby champion, who last won in 2007.
