CineSol Film Festival Celebrates 30 years

The CineSol Film Festival Celebrated its 30 years the beginning of December. According to the CineSol website Cinesol.com the film festival made its debut in September 1993 in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month. CineSol provided the Texas border region with its first and very own film festival ever, including cultural art events in the Mexican cities of Matamoros and Reynosa, Tamaulipas. CineSol has traveled throughout the region, bringing a voice and vision through film and video directly to our border community. The CineSol Film Festival is a showcase festival celebrating achievements in the art of filmmaking. CineSol is dedicated to furthering the art, craft and business of screenwriters and filmmakers and recognizing their artistic contribution. It supports the work of aspiring and established filmmakers by enhancing public awareness of their artistic endeavors and by encouraging dynamic and long-lasting community alliances. This year will mark the 30th year of the CineSol Film Festival, which was held at the eBridge Center in Brownsville on December 2nd & 3rd. There was a total of 57 independent films that were screened over two days. These independent films are from all over the world including Spain, Belgium and Ireland. There were also 15 that have Rio Grande Valley connections, such as being filmed in the RGV or having an actor from the valley. El Festival de Cine CineSol celebró a principios de diciembre sus 30 años. Según el sitio web CineSol Cinesol.com, el festival de cine hizo su debut en septiembre de 1993 en celebración del Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana. CineSol brindó a la región fronteriza de Texas su primer y propio festival de cine, que incluyó eventos de arte cultural en las ciudades mexicanas de Matamoros y Reynosa, Tamaulipas. CineSol ha viajado por toda la región, llevando una voz y una visión a través de películas y videos directamente a nuestra comunidad fronteriza. El Festival de Cine CineSol es un festival escaparate que celebra los logros en el arte del cine. CineSol se dedica a promover el arte, el oficio y los negocios de guionistas y cineastas y reconocer su contribución artística. Apoya el trabajo de cineastas aspirantes y establecidos mejorando la conciencia pública sobre sus esfuerzos artísticos y fomentando alianzas comunitarias dinámicas y duraderas. Este año marcará el trigésimo aniversario del Festival de Cine CineSol, que se llevó a cabo en el eBridge Center en Brownsville los días 2 y 3 de diciembre. Se proyectaron un total de 57 películas independientes durante dos días. Estas películas independientes proceden de todo el mundo, incluidos España, Bélgica e Irlanda. También hubo 15 que tienen conexiones con el Valle del Río Grande, como estar filmados en el RGV o tener un actor del valle.
