Falcons Soccer continues win streak
By Ruben Rodriguez
Los Fresnos News
As soccer continues on in its young season, the Los Fresnos Falcons boys soccer team has been on quite the run. Fresh off a comeback draw against Weslaco, the Falcons were slated up against another 31-6A rival in PSJA.
The Falcons and Bears were facing off in what could be a potential Bi-District matchup later on down the line. Having faced off in the last two seasons, the Falcons have gotten the best of the Bears.
In the first half, Los Fresnos would net in the first goal to take the lead 1-0. The Falcons would play solid defense all first half. The second half would continue to be a defensive showing against the Bears.
Los Fresnos would keep the pressure on both sides of the ball, netting in four more goals, all while keeping the Bears scoreless all game. When it was all said and done, Los Fresnos would cruise to a 5-0 victory.
The win marked the continuation of the win streak Los Fresnos has embarked on since January 11. The Falcons have now accumulated ten straight wins to improve to 11-3-1.
Los Fresnos will now take a few days off to prepare for District 32-6A Action. The Falcons will open district against San Benito followed by Brownsville Veterans Memorial on February 11.
The Falcons will aim to capture another district title in hopes to join Volleyball, football and now basketball, all who have brought home gold in this school year.
