Noah Gomez Wins 20th Annual Los Fresnos CISD Spelling Bee

Los Fresnos CISD
Noah Gomez, an eighth grader at Los Cuates Middle School, won the 20th annual Los Fresnos CISD Spelling Bee Championship.
After eight rounds, the field was narrowed down to three contestants, including Noah Gomez (LCMS), Anahi Aza (LCMS), and Anirudh Roy (RVE). The field of three was then narrowed to just Gomez and Roy, who spelled through round 17. Gomez spelled Patella in the Championship round 18 to win the Spelling Bee.
Noah Gomez now qualifies to participate in the Rio Grande Valley Regional Spelling Bee in March. His coach is Melina Castillo from Los Cuates Middle School.
Catherine Canning served as the linguistic pronouncer. The other judges were as follows: Sara Tudon, Los Fresnos CISD Director of Curriculum, and Instruction, Victor Rivera, Executive Director of Loaves and Fishes, and Annibal Villarreal, Los Fresnos CISD Fine Arts Coordinator.
