Gonzales Qualifies for DECA International

Los Fresnos High School senior Miranda Gonzales has advanced to the DECA International Career Development Conference April 23-26 in Nashville, Tenn.
Gonzales was a finalist at the Texas DECA CDC held in San Antonio Feb. 26-27 in the Accounting Applications division. She finished among the top three students out of 20 statewide in her division to earn the qualification to the international competition.
In the Accounting Applications competition, students are given a description of a specific situation that measures skills, knowledge and attitudes in accounting applications. Students are challenged to perform management functions and tasks focusing on the application of financial data to business planning, including collection and organization of data, development and use of reports, and analysis of data to make business decisions.
