Los Fresnos Holds off powerhouse Mission Veterans

With some Valley Districts already beginning district play, the Los Fresnos Falcons have quite a ways before beginning a tough 32-6A schedule. To continue preparing for 32-6A Play, the Lady Falcons hosted the 30-5A powerhouse Mission Veterans Lady Patriots.
The Lady Patriots, who are the defending 30-5A District Champions, looked to get a huge win on the road against Los Fresnos, Throughout the night, both teams displayed strong offense and defense as the first set would set the tone for the rest of the night. Los Fresnos would capture set one in a 26-24 thriller.
Los Fresnos still looked strong despite being without their power hitter senior Olivia Parra. The Lady Falcon defense was able to shut down The explosive Lady Patriot offense led by Rylie Barnett. Set two saw the Lady Falcons win by three, 25 to 22. Set three again showed how exceptional the Lady Falcons were on both sides of the ball. A back and forth battle all night ended with the Lady Falcons coming out on top 25-20 to sweep Mission Veterans Memorial. Shiloh Jones, and Dakota Martinez played standout offense and defense to improve their record to 23-5.
Los Fresnos will have four more tune up games to prepare for district. Their final non-district opponents will be Mission, Edinburg High, Laredo United South and then Edinburg North.
