Lady Falcons capture 32-6A win, Tied for First

Another Round of 32-6A play took place as the Los Fresnos Lady Falcons took on the Brownsville Hanna Golden Eagles at home. Coming off a big 3-0 sweep over the Weslaco Lady Panthers, Los Fresnos was 2-0 heading into the matchup. In the 32-6A Standings, Los Fresnos sits tied for first with fellow 32-6A powerhouse Harlingen. This matchup saw the return of Senior Power Hitter Olivia Parra, who has been sidelined due to injury.
The First set was heavily controlled by the Lady Falcons with Shiloh Jones leading the offense, Picking up 5 kills and a block. Los Fresnos was efficient on serving as Marcela Tijerina picked up 3 consecutive kills on serves. Los Fresnos would dominate in the first set 25-5.
Set two began with Hanna going on a 2-0 run before the Lady Falcons quickly turned it around to make it 6-2. The second set saw Jenna Rios punch in five kills and three aces to lead the Lady Falcon offense. Addyson Vega, Iris Delgado, Roberta Torres and Ariana Hernandez also picked up a kill. In a mirror performance of set one, Los Fresnos again won 25-5.
Set three saw a more awake Lady Golden Eagle team. Hanna picked up multiple kills to power the offense. Despite the slow start in the set, Los Fresnos’ offense exploded with Olivia Parra and Dakota Martinez combining for 15 kills to surge past the Lady Golden Eagle offense. Libero Cory Reyes also picked up a few saves. Defense was led by Jessietheresa Brisky with four blocks and one save. With the combined stellar offense and defense, Los Fresnos would win 25-13 to sweep Brownsville Hanna.
With the win, The Lady Falcons are now tied for first in 32-6A alongside Harlingen, who captured a win over San Benito.
