The Los Fresnos Lady Falcons faced off against the St. Joseph Academy Lady Bloodhounds over the Holiday Break. After a loss in tournament play, Los Fresnos was set to try to get a win to end the week. In the second meeting against St Joseph in 2022, Los Fresnos looked to repeat after their 70-34 win over the Lady Bloodhounds on November 11.
At the end of the first quarter, Los Fresnos, thanks to a solid offense and key defense, put up 20 points and only allowed six points by the Lady Bloodhounds. The Lady Falcons continued their offensive dominance in the second quarter to lead 34-16 at the half.
Los Fresnos picked up right where they left off to start off the second half. Out scoring the Lady Bloodhounds 12-6 in the third and 12-5 in the fourth, Los Fresnos would win 58-27 over Brownsville St. Joseph.
Now posting a solid 9-3 record in non-district play, Los Fresnos has some big matchups over Harvest Christian Academy, Edinburg, Edinburg North and a couple more as Los Fresnos continues to prepare for District 32-6A action come mid-January.
