Carrying on momentum of a big win over PSJA High in Week Four, the Los Fresnos Falcons were set to take on the La Joya Coyotes for another round of Non-District Action. A rematch from last season, the Falcons looked to repeat history after blanking La Joya 45-0 in 2022.
The Falcons played standout football on both sides of the ball, all while controlling the tempo of the game. Los Fresnos had a efficient offense backed by a dominant defense and was able to defeat the Coyotes in shutout fashion 63-0.
With the win, Los Fresnos improved to 3-1 on the season. While one more non district matchup against Mission remains, the Falcons are setting their sights on 32-6A action.
After facing off against Mission and then a BYE Week, Los Fresnos will open up 32-6A play at home vs Brownsville Rivera on October 6. The home stand will continue as the Falcons will host Weslaco on October 13.
Los Fresnos will then take on the Brownsville Hanna Golden Eagles on October 19. The Falcons will then have two major games to close out the regular season. Against San Benito on October 27, then Harlingen on November 3rd.
Last Season, Los Fresnos was able to sneak into the playoffs and finish as an Area Round finalist. The Falcons look to keep their momentum going into 32-6A play and try to capture a district title.
