The Rotary Club of Historic Brownsville held its Annual Ride for Rotary Queen Isabella Causeway Cross Benefit Ride on October 1, 2023. The ride which is 33 and 45 miles depending on the speed of the bicyclists. There were two different routes for the ride, the short route which was 30.2 miles and the long route which was 45.6 miles long.
The annual ride has participants of all ages and all levels of cyclists. Every cent raised by the event is used to support Rotary’s local projects, which include providing free eye exams and eyeglasses to children, hosting their annual Heart Gallery (an adoption awareness event), finding scholarships for local students, providing Christmas gifts to nursing home residents, and funding for other Rotary International Humanitarian projects. This year’s event kicked off at 7am at the Brownsville Event Center and ended at Louie’s Backyard in South Padre Island.
