After a lengthy regular season, the Los Fresnos Falcons faced off against the Edinburg North Cougars. The Falcons entered the playoffs as the number three seed of District 32-6A, while the Edinburg North Cougars finished the two seed out of 31-6A.
Edinburg North’s offense was the key to success and that was proved early in the first quarter. A 25-point performance in the first fueled the rally for Edinburg North as the Cougars were able to take a huge lead. The dominance continued for the Cougars in the first half, as the Falcons found themselves trailing 37-25 at the half.
Being able to close out a big gap of a lead was one battle. Los Fresnos still needed to try and suppress that explosive Edinburg North offense. Despite outscoring the Cougars in the second half, including a 30 point fourth quarter, the Falcons fell short 78-73.
The Falcons fall to the Cougars, who will advance to the Area Round of the 6A Playoffs. The Falcons season comes to an end with an overall record of 27-10 and a 7-3 record in District.
